I'm going to go ahead and warn you: this is going to be a very long post. If you're not as interested as I am in the process of getting MPAA approval for what I hope will be the first Hindi-language Hollywood movie, then feel free to take a quick look at the download links and read on only those parts that you find more interesting. The first thing we want to do is register with Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) https://www.mpaa.org/. This is so we can get an official rating for Gippi and so we can become members of the Producers’ Guild of America (PGA) https://producersguildofamerica. org/producers-guild-of-america.html. Here's a link to a list of what the PGA requires of the producer, plus a link to a GPGCA membership form https://www.pgcareers.com/search/searchWebPCAjobCoverLetter/jobcoverletterform?id=1. The PGA requires that we prove that we have 50% financing, which is pretty close to what larger production companies demand as well as an SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Health & Welfare for the lead actress and supporting actors. SAG is required for union members. If you are not a member, contact your local union to find out if you are eligible. If you don't have 50% financing, you can hire a third party financial broker and ask him to assemble 50%. But we'd rather use our own money, so we'll need an SBA loan https://www.sba.gov/content/cfa/entries/sba-loan-program/boiler-room?src=bv-ssb&rec_id=14096&rec_type=BV_SSB. Our next step is to find a suitable location. I have some criteria that I follow. The space needs to be big enough to function as a third-party studio, but small enough so the crew doesn't need a million dollars worth of equipment, which can get pretty expensive. Also, if it has lots of windows, it's difficult for us to shoot some parts indoors with green screen so we might have to shut down parts of the property during shooting. My first choice was a two-story house in the San Fernando Valley with three rooms downstairs and three rooms upstairs and a yard and patio (see pic). However, I read in the Los Angeles Times that this is a very competitive area for a film to be made in, and I am not willing to wait several months only to get a no. For the same price per month, I found a loft in Little Tokyo that has four large rooms downstairs and three rooms upstairs and a yard and patio (see pic). http://www.cbrenevada.com/html/avana_gallery. 22cfa1e7782032
